In sickness and in health

She Who Must Be Obeyed was diagnosed recently as having carcinoid syndrome. She had it ten years ago and recovered, but her seratonin levels sky-rocketed again and all of her specialists cried doom.

She's been through a heap of tests and scans and there is nothing. Maybe the healing hands again? LOL.

Wish they worked on me. My hyperthyroidism is under control from the little pink pill, but I now have osteo-arthritis in both hips as well as OA spurs growing on five vertebra.

And while I was being x-rayed for the hips I found out that I have had a severely broken pelvis sometime in my past. Old mum knows nothing and I'm sure I would have remembered a broken pelvis, I do remember dislocating my hip at 5 - maybe that has something to do with it?, though my broken back went un-diagnosed for 25-ish years; called all sorts of malingerers and nere-do-wells by doctors in those 25 years when in fact the pain I was suffering was caused from a broken back injured training for rep rugby. I suppose if I hadn't been extremely fit, extremely well muscled and extremely strong in the back I would have suffered more at the time and the doctors wouldn't have sent me for chiropractry and put me under general anaesthetic for manipulation of my back. Lucky to have survived the treatment.

changes on the ponderosa

Ice cream bean tree has been killed off - it was big (6m or more and 8m across) creating too much shade for the citrus near and under it so it's bye bye ice cream bean

Also gone is my favourite morning job - the granadilla. SWMBO decided it must go - too much shade, too messy and no fruit for ages. No arguement. Big job though, all of the vine was mulched and created wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow of mulch.

And the mulberry was pruned so that the lowest branch is 2m or more off the ground, again for shade reduction to let the soursop and carambola and nectarine get more sun.

So there is light in parts of the garden again LOL.

A grape vine will be trained where the granadilla was.

ibud

The fires in Victoria this week has got me thinking to what we call people you only ever meet on internet forums.

There are several people I "know" who have lost their homes or have been evacuated and more that I am concerned about.

Friends doesn't seem to fit, nor does mate or acquaintances. So I've created the term ibuds or ibuddies. Internet buddies - people you only know from forums but nonetheless are concerned about when things go wrong.

So what do you - the internet world - think of being called one of my ibuds?
